Plant-a-Tree Program
With our new Plant-a-Tree Program, for every order placed Ashley’s will plant a tree with Trees for the Future. That's over 12,000 trees planted each year - enough to sequester the annual carbon emissions of approximately 30 typical American cars, year after year.
Paperless Transactions
In addition to planting trees, we're making an effort to save trees. As an eco-friendly alternative to our printed Menu Guide, we now offer an Electronic Menu Guide. Customers who access online menus and order online also receive an electronic receipt, providing an entirely paperless transaction.
Improved Fuel Economy
Ashleys Food has launched a Vehicle Fuel Economy Educational Program to help our delivery professionals improve their vehicle’s fuel economy and reduce CO2 emissions through proper vehicle maintenance and efficient driving & delivery techniques.
Eco-Friendly Packaging
We're currently developing an outreach program that will educate partner restaurants on the benefits of eco-friendly to-go packaging and offer assistance in switching to compostable products made from renewable resources.
Green Businesses Practices
In order to operate in the most environmentally responsible manner, Ashley’s Food is reviewing all internal operating procedures and facilities and making efforts to reduce solid waste and conserve water & energy. Our goal is to achieve certification in the Sarasota County Green Business Partnership during 2009.
